Transform Your Life: The Path to Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Through Personalized Plans

Hello! My name is Ruben Rocha, and today I want to explain how our personalized support plans work, created especially for those living with chronic pain.


🔍 Why Chronic Pain Requires a Different Approach

Often, when dealing with persistent problems, we tend to isolate a specific system or think we know what's causing the pain. We like to think the necessary intervention is just getting a massage, going somewhere and quickly solving the problem.

However, the truth is different.

When we compile everything surrounding our life — our habits, posture, relationships and unresolved issues — we realize that treatment must be a much more comprehensive intervention.


Comprehensive, But Not Complicated

Despite being comprehensive, this process is not complicated, as there's a clear and specific sense of direction about what needs to be done, making the rehabilitation process faster and more effective.



1️⃣ Discovering the Root of the Problem

Our process begins with the objective of detecting what's truly happening with you and what's the root of the problem causing the pain.


📋 Interview and Initial Assessment

First, we conduct an initial interview to understand how we can help and verify if the support is most appropriate.


🔬 Detailed and Holistic Assessment

This is followed by a very understandable and detailed mechanical, postural and orthopedic assessment. We want to know exactly how body posture, muscle tension and range of motion are influencing chronic pain.

We go beyond the obvious, examining:

  • The cervical spine

  • Teeth alignment

  • Breathing (whether you breathe well through your nose)

  • How hearing and vision are


🗺️ The Physiological and Behavioral Map

There's also an aspect that cannot be seen with tools, but is assessed through symptoms and talking with you.

It's crucial to understand:

  • How your health is at a physiological level (organ health)

  • How you sleep

  • Lifestyle habits

  • Whether there are unresolved issues that may be influencing your pain condition


🎯 Creating the Map

After gathering all these factors that may be influencing pain, we create a map. This is when we begin to narrow down and understand what is a problem and what isn't, building a clear structure.



2️⃣ Simplifying Complexity

One of my priorities is to take all this complexity of information, simplify and deliver and explain to the person what they truly have.


Understanding the Connections

It's essential that you understand where the problem comes from and how all these things are interconnected.

For example:

It's necessary to understand why your diet is correlated with the inability to breathe well, and why the inability to breathe well is causing you stress, discomfort or neck pain.

💡 It's with understanding that we can take responsibility for our health and know exactly what to do, which is crucial, especially if you've already tried various isolated solutions in the past.


3️⃣ The Rehabilitation Plan

After understanding the cause, we sit together to define what's realistic for you.

I don't give homework or create goals that aren't realistic, so we define what can be done.


💆 In-Depth Therapeutic Sessions

Therapeutic sessions are double the usual size. We want to ensure rehabilitation work is always done, which includes:

  • Motor-level exercises

  • Stretching

  • Mobilizations to improve orthopedic and postural level

The goal is to provide base physical fitness, as we're increasingly losing it.

Additionally, table work and manual adjustments help drastically lower stress levels, which is vital, since very high stress levels cause many problems in our health.


🏠 Push and Homework

What we do in the office is a push. Then, we design a rehabilitation plan to be done at home, which includes new habits and lifestyle.

Again, these habits are decided with you, ensuring that:

  • You're ready and willing to do them

  • You understand why

Rehabilitation exercises and stretches are taken from my exercise library on YouTube, where you can see me explaining and replicate what to do at home.


🎯 The Strategy

The plan is, above all, to create a strategy to help rehabilitate.

The path is made:

✅ Here in the office

✅ At home

With homework being very important.

I'm not here just to give massages or support a symptom in an isolated way.
